Blizzard’s Diablo Immortal launching this June

Burning to PC as well as mobile

The next Diablo game isn’t Diablo IV or a remaster — it’s actually the mobile spin-off that many of us had forgotten about. Diablo Immortal, announced long ago in the Beforetimes, is nearly ready, and now Blizzard has finally given it a launch date.

The game will arrive on June 2nd for iOS and Android, and in a surprise will also hit PC and allow for cross play. It’ll *almost* be like a real Diablo game on PC!

Immortal takes place between Diablo II & III, and fills in a lot of the gaps and questions that many a fan has had about the era between the two games. While it’ll be Free-to-Play, it promises to still be an ARPG experience, albeit one that’s now more an MMORPG than a single-player one.

Though the mobile iterations will be somewhat feature complete at launch, the PC version will jump in with an open beta, although cross-progression and play will be available from the get go.
