Shin chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation Review

This “endless seven day journey” is worth the week

Shin chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation is one of the most interesting, charming adventure games we’ve come across in a while. There are dinosaurs and fishing! And a love interest!

The game, a tale about the cult little Japanese comic troublemaker, takes the My Summer Vacation game formula and adds a lot of heart in the small package. Through mundane situations that tend to turn epic in the mind of a child, it genuinely feels like what a 5 year old boy might go through while away on a holiday. Shin chan made me legitimately recall moments in my own childhood where the world was bigger and the life experiences formative.

In the video above, Dali talks about his now obsession with the little trouble maker, and how everything from the art to the music to the game’s chore list combine to create a wonderful experience.
