Akka Arrh review

Akka Arrh review

Remakes are a lost arrh

Akka Arrh has an absolutely ridiculous journey in how we, the general public, finally got to play this weird little footnote in the history of Atari. A cancelled arcade game for being called “too hard” in its test markets, Atari finally released it in the incredible Atari 50 collection. And now, industry wizard Jeff Minter and Llamasoft are back with his trademark brand of psychedelic chaos in a modernized reimagining of this strange little oddity of Atari’s past.

It’s a bullet hell and a tower defense progenitor, built on layers of action. And, even though it visually mesmerizes us it’s also accessible and impressively enjoyable. Akka Arrh is a neat, unique arcade experience that feels familiar while also being completely different.
