Final Fantasy VII Rebirth drops new trailer, spoils everything before it

The Rebirth takes place in 2024

Not content with Final Fantasy XVI launching later this month, Square Enix had originally planned to have Final Fantasy VII Rebirth arrive later this year. Well, that date has changed, as the game is now launching in “Early 2024.” The news comes via a surprise reveal of a new trailer at Summer Game Fest 2023, where the announcement was made.

This new trailer definitely spoils the events of the first in the new trilogy, which deviated from the original Final Fantasy VII game. It shows several of the playable characters, locations, enemies and more, and asks about what happened to Cloud after being gone for 5 years. It’ll feature a more open world than its predecessor.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launches exclusively for PS5 in 2024.
