Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail was first announced during the Las Vegas FanFest. The first trailer was a nice snippet of what Dawntrail is all about. The London FanFest introduced a new job, Viper. It was announced by the Final Fantasy 14 team that they will be releasing two new jobs for the critically acclaimed MMORPG. Now, at the Tokyo FanFest, fans around the world got to see the full trailer for Dawntrail.
During the trailer, they introduced the newest Job Class: Pictomancer. This was not the only thing that Square-Enix got to announce. Finally, we got to meet the Female Hrothgar with the introduction of Wuk Lamat (spelling confirmed by the English Voice Actress, Sena Bryer), the daughter of the current ruler of Tural.
Some key notes with the Hrothgar (via Square Enix):
- The Hrothgar people hail from Ilsabard.
- Females number relatively few among the population but are readily identified by their lithe, muscular forms. Equally distinctive is their predisposition for leadership.
- A Tural people with shared ancestry. The Xbr’aal call Yak T’el home.
When the time comes, I personally will spend the $10 to change races.
My excitement level is off the charts as I need more Jobs to level (aside from crafting and gathering — hey, I have time!), new maps to explore and more lore to experience. I know there might be a chance that this could end up being just one glorified summer vacation expansion, but considering what our Warrior of Light had to endure the past two expansions in Shadowbringers and Endwalker, it is time for them to take a much-needed break and have some fun for once.
Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail is scheduled to be released in the Summer of 2024.
