The “Buddy Cap” game arrives in 2025

When we first heard about the Black Panther & Captain America game back in 2022, we didn’t know much except that it looked like it took place in the past. Today, we found out that it definitely does: in 1943! Heck, it’s even TITLED 1943!

Marvel’s 1943: Rise of Hydra is the new game from Amy Hennig’s Skydance New Media Studio, and features Cap and Azzuri, the 1940s Black Panther, alongside Gabriel Jones from the Howling Commandos and Wakandan spy Nanali. With the world in the midst of chaos, the four heroes must work together to save it.

The game’s story trailer was revealed during Epic’s State of Unreal livestream today, showcasing the new technologies coming to the software suite. The game will utilize Unreal Engine 5.4, and it’s certainly visually impressive. No platforms were announced, but the game is targeting a 2025 release.
