Cronos: The New Dawn brings Eastern Europe back to the post-apocalypse

Bloober Team’s new game mixes survival horror with time travel

I grew up in the 80s and 90s traveling to Eastern Europe to visit family, and even as a child was always in awe of the brutalist architecture that I saw. Bloober Team’s new original project, Cronos: The New Dawn, sets post-apocalyptic sci-fi against the backdrop of Brutalism, telling a survival horror story across multiple time periods.

The third person game has players taking on the role of a Traveller tasked with stopping the annihilation of the city of New Dawn as it’s slowly overrun by grotesque creatures that “merge” when they’re not fully defeated, causing vastly more powerful enemies.

There’s a definite Dead Space feel to Cronos: The New Dawn, except that it’s not the perils of space that we’re worried about. We’ll tackle the merged beasts when the game launches on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC later this year.
