Partner up for 25 minutes
Nintendo has formally announced a Direct for tomorrow, July 31, 2025. The Direct was rumored over the last few weeks as fans have been itching to find out what’s next after the most excellent Donkey Kong Bananza. While we already have a couple of dates of games lasting through August, the rest of the year is mostly a mystery.
The Partner Direct will focus on third parties and feature games for both the Switch and Switch 2. It’s worth noting that Nintendo has a quarterly earnings call on Friday, and shareholders will want to know the plan for the rest of the year, so putting dates and information to its upcoming products is key. Just a couple of days ago the company shadow dropped Mario Paint onto the Switch Online service, and yesterday it revealed the full info on Drag x Drive. The week prior we received the latest info on October’s Pokemon Legends ZA. However, there’s still Hyrule Warriors, Kirby Air Riders and Metroid Prime 4 to detail — if those are still on tap for this year. And, just a few weeks back the company revealed Splatoon Raiders, a new game in the franchise, without a date attached.
Regardless, being a Partner Direct means we may not see much in the way of new information on those projects. However, there IS still info needed on third party games releasing this year. Those include:
- Elden Ring
- Final Fantasy 7 Remake
- Star Wars Outlaws
- Hades 2
- Hollow Knight Silksong
Rumors suggest we’ll also potentially see the following show up on the Switch 2 in some respect:
- Assassin’s Creed Shadows
- Star Wars: Jedi Survivor
- Call of Duty
- Final Fantasy 16
- A new NIS game in the Yomawari series
- Plants vs Zombies: Replanted
- Indiana Jones & the Great Circle
- Halo: Master Chief Collection
- Doom: The Dark Ages
- Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
I guess I’ll shoot my shot an throw down some ideas that I’d personally love to see announced from third parties:
- Exclusive Ubisoft project
- Death Stranding
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
- Final Fantasy 9 Remake
- Chrono Trigger Remaster
- Tekken
- Final Fantasy XIV
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
- And fuck it, let’s get some Astrobot on this baby
Anyways, the Partner Direct takes place tomorrow, July 31st at 9AM ET/6AM PT on Nintendo’s YouTube channel.
See ya then!
