Sticker/Ball review: Stupendously sticking stuff

You like stickers? You like sticking stickers on walls? You sure do, don’t deny it!

Bilge’s Sticker/Ball is a roguelike that has us placing stickers on balls, on dice, on animals, on all sorts of objects, with the stickers affecting the actions and reactions of the objects as they bounce against each other. And like any good reaction, multiple reactions can react against each other to cause even more reactions and eventually lead to insane reactions.

It is incredibly visually stimulating; things can go absolutely nuts. We can go from having one dice on the screen that will spawn a farm and then that farm might spawn a cow. And that cow might be able to be abducted by an alien that we spawn somewhere else, or that cow might be able to be turned into burgers to be sold at a restaurant. And that’s just one cycle of reactions that could happen when we’re triggering our different stickers.

We’re building decks, or rather sleeves of dice, where we build up combos together of different reactions that could happy. And then at some point the reactions just flood the screen. Hell, there are frogs smoking cigarettes for some reason. It’s common to know know what’s going on at all times, but the randomness and chaos are part of what make this game so much fun.

Sticker/Ball is a “number go up” game, but maybe moreso it’s a “number go up that makes another number go up” game, or perhaps go down, and then another will go up or not move at all. Whatever way the number in the game goes, it’s wuite possible that the number OF the game will go up because it’s that’s addicting.
