Time to breathe fire and kick grass
It’s been 84 years. We’ve been waiting. And now we’re being treated. At Xbox’s Games Showcase the company revealed that a new Spyro game is finally in the works. Spyro: A Realm Beyond is the first solo adventure for the purple dragon in forever, and his first action adventure game since the Skylanders series.
The game will follow Spyro as he’s stuck in a new land with a new threat, where he’ll have to make a few new friends and take on a few new enemies along the way. The game will have a lot of flight in it, obviously, with new combo systems that link battling on land and in the air in some new ways for the series.
And it looks like Spyro. Well, a little older Spyro, since he’s been sitting on his recliner watching Knicks basketball all this time. Time to put away the pizza, bro, and hit the skies.
Spyro: A Realm Beyond arrives on Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Switch 2 in Spring 2027.
