Resident Evil Code Veronica remake is real, and it’s coming next year

No Code needed for the next Resident Evil game

The year 2000 was a long, long time ago. We didn’t get flying cars, we didn’t get telportation, but that year we got Resident Evile: Code Veronica. Now, more than two decades later we’re getting it ahaom.

During this year’s Summer Game Fest, the darling of the AAA developer world announced that the game was making its return as just Resident Evil Veronica, a full remake of the classic.

Veronica will be a modernize remake but having the heavy thematic influences of the original. It was once started as a direct sequel in the series until exclusivity deals took it off rails. The game fits between Resident Evil 2 and 3 and follows Claire Redfield and her brother Chris Redfield, as they fight to survive an outbreak on an iisland.

Resident Evil Veronica will launch for Xbox, Switch 2, PS5, Steam, Epic, PC & Mac in 2027.
