The Wolf Among Us Remastered [Preview]: Refreshing their fur

Back again for the FURst time

Following an announcement for its frequently requested sequel, The Wolf Among Us is getting a refresh with The Wolf Among Us Remastered. At Summer Game Fest, PM Studios brought an early portion of the game that has received this remastering, and we had the chance to go hands-on.

Things like animation and lighting have been updated to smooth out some of the rough edges of the original, making for more fluid movement and direct interactions between characters more seamless. Accompanying it is a modernization to some of the framing and cinematography setup in a few scenes. Comparing it with the same section of gameplay in the original game running on XBOX Series X, it’s truly a testament to the original game’s cinematic vision that the only thing that immediately jumps out as changed is that improvement to the animation quality. The game’s tone remains the same neon soaked noir mystery that kept so many engaged originally.

Coming packed in with these improvements to the game’s five episodes is some additional bonus content including interviews with the developers, restored content, and other things exploring the development behind the game. It seems a pretty solid package for the returning fan and those who may have discovered the Fables series of graphic novels or the Telltale style of games after the originals

The Wolf Among Us Remastered is currently tracking for a holiday 2026 release on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and XBOX.
