MLB The Show 22 arrives on Switch alongside Playstation and Xbox

The biggest baseball series slides onto Nintendo’s platform in April

Shohei Ohtani has been revealed as the cover star of Sony Interactive Entertainment and San Diego Studio’s MLB The Show 22. The unanimous American League MVP is considered a generational player, and has had an incredible last couple of seasons in the Major Leagues. Now he’ll get to flex his digital muscles, not only on PlayStation platforms and recently Xbox, but now also on Nintendo’s Switch. The upcoming next iteration will land on all of the platforms (and day 1 on Game Pass) on April 5th, 2022.

The game will bring Cross-Platform Play, Cross Saves, and Cross Progression, so that players can pick up any of the platforms and continue playing their seasons. The game will bring back Road to the Show, a sort of Baseball RPG, as well as the Diamond Dynasty card collection, March to October, and mini seasons. The PS5 and Xbox Series versions add an extensive stadium creation mode.

MLB The Show 22 landing on Switch is the latest console to join the series, having launched on Xbox last year. It marks a shift for SIE, but is mostly due to the MLB’s interest in having its license spread to as many platforms as possible.
