There’s a new Pokemon Presents coming this week

Expect news on Scarlet, Violet, and… apps?

Nintendo has eschewed a big Summer Direct this year to focus on a slow drip of news — but a drip that’s been fruitful in revealing regular news bites and keeping the company in the news cycle. Last week saw the reveal of the newest Mario Kart 8 DLC tracks, but this week looks like it might drops a substantial amount of information.

The Pokemon Company has revealed a Pokemon Presents event taking place on Wednesday, August 3rd at 6AM PT/9AM ET, and they may be showing off a few surprises.

While Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will certainly be central to the event, rumors have suggested that classic GameBoy-era Pokemon games may be making their way to the platform, alongside more potential ports and/or remakes. And, there’s still the long wait for the Detective Pikachu game, too. Interestingly, the PR notes that we should expect apps alongside video games, which could include updates to Pokemon Home, Pokemon Masters EX, Pokemon Go, and perhaps, maybe, the now-mythical, forgotten Pokemon Sleep.

We’ll find out soon.
