Nintendo and Sony have announced their annual September presentations, which happen annually in September

It didn’t take a genius to predict these

Hey guess what? Have you checked the date? It’s September! And what always happens in September? A Nintendo Direct!

Nintendo has held a Direct in September every year since 2012 (only missing 2015) so it was absolutely easy to predict and plan around their annual Fall showcase. The company revealed today that’s latest Direct is happening tomorrow, Thursday, September 14th at 7AM PT/10AM ET. The event will feature 40 minutes of games dropping through Winter, which takes place until March 21, 2024. That could mean A LOT. The Nintendo Direct will be streamed on Nintendo’s web page, YouTube, and Twitch.

Meanwhile, Sony will be hosting its own showcase, announcing a PlayStation State of Play to take place on the same day. Sony has ALSO held presentations in September every year since 2019, so this is was another surefire bet.

The event will focus on indies and third party titles, with rumors swirling of another possible Final Fantasy remake ready to be announced (hello number 9). It starts at 2PM PT/5PM ET on the PlayStation website, YouTube and Twitch.

*Checks notes* Oh hey, even Microsoft is hosting an Xbox event this month, too. The event will focus on games coming to and from Japan for the company and its partners, and takes place on September 21 at 2AM PT/5AM ET.

All of these events are annualized September events because, as one can see by the calendar, Tokyo Game Show takes place in September, and the Fall (read: Holiday) shopping season kicks off in October.

See you back again in 2024, when all of these will repeat.
