Get ready for revenge in February 2026 with the next Resident Evil game
At Summer Game Fest, Capcom dropped teaser after teaser about Resident Evil, like announcing a sale and giving a thank you to the fans, before finally closing the show with the reveal of Resident Evil (aka Biohazard) Requiem, the ninth mainline game in the series.
The latest game focuses on recent outbreaks being investigated by the FBI with one agent, Grace Ashcroft, being directly tied to the case. Her family was lost in Raccoon City (as depicted in RE: Outbreak) and she hasn’t fully recovered from the incident. Now, things are stirring and she’s being called in to find out what’s going on.
Geoff Keighley noted how this game will be a shift fom traditional Resident Evil games, both in tone and in gameplay, becoming darker and porentially more focused on horror.
Resident Evil: Requiem will be playable at Gamescom, but the better news is that it’ll arrive on February 26, 2026 on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 and PC
