The Legend of Zelda movie moves up its release

It’s almost TIME for your OCARINA to start tootin

SURPRISE! We actually have some GOOD news when it comes to video games. Well, at least a video game movie.

When the Legend of Zelda movie was announced way back in 2023 Nintendo hadn’t given it a release date yet. Then, when the company launched Nintendo Today one of the first posts was the reveal of a March 30, 2027 release date for the film. At some point over the last year Nintendo pushed that date to over a month later to May 7, 2027. Whoops! That sucks!

What doesn’t suck is that today the company revealed that the film was getting pushed again — forward! That’s right, Nintendo & Sony’s Legend of Zelda movie is now hitting theaters on April 30, 2027. That means that we are now less than a year away from one of the most anticipated gaming films of all time. ONE LESS WEEK AWAY.

This is Miyamoto. I would like to let you know that the worldwide theatrical release date for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda has been moved up to April 30, 2027, from May 7. The team is working hard to deliver the film to everyone as soon as possible.
