  • In regards to the time lock & pre-destiny, there was something that happened way, way back in a Tom Baker story The Pyramids of Mars where Sarah Jane says to The Doctor, why don’t we just leave, we know the Earth doesn’t end in 1911. And he says it doesn’t work like that & moves the Tardis forward to the 1980’s where the Earth is a blasted wilderness.

I think once The Doctor gets involved in a situation, his role becomes pre-determined & fixed – that is his weakness.
As far as the Statue of Liberty, certainly menacing & completely over the top. How do we know that it wasn’t front page news – with-in the time paradox?
Overall, I was very sad to see the end of the Ponds, but I am also happy that Rory does not become the Master. The back & forth with Amy & Rory was brilliant.
Also, remember that The Doctor said he would never be able to see Rose again once the rift closed…so they may turn up at some point in the future.
