Xbox Game Pass adds EA Play

EA’s access service arrives for no additional cost

Later this year, Game Pass will be adding EA Play as a part of its offering. EA Play, which was formerly known as both EA Access (consoles) and Origin Access (PC) allows subscribers to have instant access to a back catalog of Electronic Arts games as well as many new releases. The service was notable for letting players take some games for a spin up to a week before they reach retail.

With the upcoming launch of both the Series S and the Series X consoles, the addition of EA Play could create a great value to anyone who signs up for Game Pass Ultimate, the monthly subscription service that includes everything from downloadable games across console and PC, to online play, to streaming games. The EA catalog includes over 60 games, such as Madden 20, NHL, Battlefront, Dead Space, Mass Effect, Sims, and FIFA 20, and offer discounts for purchasers of games like Madden 21 and FIFA 21.
