Songs of the Past will sing onto consoles in 2027
Geralt still has some work to do, it seems. CD Projekt Red and developer Fool’s Theory have revealed that a third big chunk of DLC is coming to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, titled Songs of the Past.
While there aren’t many details, the title should give some insight. Witcher 4 is focusing on Ciri, so messing with the timeline in between 3 and 4 might now be viable. Songs of the Past seems to indicate that this will at least partly take place in Geralt’s back story.
The game’s co-developer is Fool’s Theory, which developed and released The Thaumaturge back in 2024. They’re also working on the original Witcher remake.
2027 isn’t that far away, and CDPR has even given specs for PCs hoping to run what it says is an updated take on the engine, and those require Windows 11.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600, Intel Core i5-8400
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660, AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB
VRAM: 6 GB
RAM: 12 GB
Storage: 70 GB SSD
OS: 64-bit Windows 11
The DLC for the 11-year old game will only arrive on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5, so past generations will miss out.
Ah well, I guess we’ll have to buy and play The Witcher 3 all over again. Bummer!
