Fallout 76’s Wastelanders update launches this week

The biggest changes to the game yet could revitalize it

Fallout 76 has been fighting an incredible battle since it was announced. From initial fan backlash, to issues with its launch, to a lower than expected player base that quickly dwindled, the game and its developers have been pushing a boulder up a mountain. No, more like up Mount Everest.

But here we are, more than a year later, and with tweaks and adjustments, and a niche but dedicated audience, the game has been turning a corner. It’s a much more stable experience now, with more to do and more ways to interact with the world. And now, with the upcoming Wastelanders update, it might actually have finally made it to the top of that hill.

Wastelanders gives a whole slew of new content, putting it much more in line with a traditional Fallout experience. Human NPCs are now a part of the game, which is an important addition since the experience features an all new main quest. Also added in is an all new reputation system, in which dialog tree choices and interactions will determine players’ standings with the different factions in the game.

The meaty Wastelanders update drops this week, April 14, for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
