We try out a few of the latest G Fuel flavors — Nuka Grape, Tetris Blast, and Super Saiyan — and come away impressed with our trip to Taste University.
I’ve partaken in energy drinks in the past, and there are a few that I absolutely live by, but I’ve never jumped into the powdered variety. Sure, I grew up on Koolaid and Crystal Light like everyone else, but these days my intake is mostly water or coffee. G Fuel’s newest 2.0 energy formulation aims to solve that conundrum for me — and hooo baby does it work.
Now, with 144 mg of caffeine in each scoop mixed with water, I get the best of both worlds. The three flavors sent over to us, Nuka Grape, Super Saiyan and Tetris Blast, each have unique tastes and usages, I’ve found, and I’m happy to say that I’m now finding a replacement for the coffee drip.
Super Saiyan: This is a lemonade flavor, with a nice and clear view and yet a very tangy taste. I took this to the office and have been using it for my long drives home. It also seems like it’ll be good in the Summer, where warmer weather means less hot drinks and something a little more cool and refreshing.
Nuka Grape: This is GRAPE. It’s a lot of it. Though I’m not the biggest fan of grape this is sure tasty and smooth. The rest of the crew at SideQuesting defenitely seems to like it best because they sure devoured it during our live taste test at PAX East.
Tetris Blast: This one is actually my favorite of the three sent over. It tastes a tad bit “thicker” than the others, with hints of candy. It’s not super strong, either, which I love. I’ve been drinking it prior to my workouts and enjoying that it’s something more in the gym than just water.
Whatever flavor I choose to drink, perhaps two of the best things I’ve noticed are that the necessary scoops are small (meaning that the tub lasts longer) and that it won’t yellow my teeth like coffee does. Score one for the pearly whites I’ll be rocking in June.
